Abundant Birth Project (ABP) – first piloted in San Francisco, and now expanding to four additional counties in California – practices a pilot-to-policy model. We do not want our efforts to be limited to the duration of our pilots, and we are investigating several policy avenues to sustainably fund ABP as an ongoing offering to support pregnant people.

Through our multi-county expansion pilot, we plan to use the evidence gathered to expand the availability of pregnancy guaranteed income and establish a new model of care in the US that could support all parents to have the safe and joyful births they deserve.

We recognize that any attempt to scale up the number of beneficiaries will require a larger renewable source of funding, such as tax dollars, which can only be achieved through policy change. We are pursuing the feasibility of utilizing existing funding streams, and invite your partnership!
